![]() ![]() It’s very much a Persona game through and through (just in the form of an action game) instead being X style of game with Persona trappings like so many other sequels/spin-offs have been in the past decade. If you’re expecting the usual mainstays of Omega Force’s games where you’re cutting down massive hordes of foes without even trying, there’s very little of that here. Given that, you might expect Strikers to be a Musou game. Persona 5 Strikers is an action game designed by Omega Force, who’s best known for their work on the Dynasty Warriors series of games (otherwise known as “Musou”). Persona 5 Strikers keeps that tradition alive and well. It’s a series that’s difficult to navigate given the myriad ways it loves to delight and disappoint simultaneously, always following every high point with plenty of low ones and vice versa. But on the other hand, there’s so much about the series that is utterly infuriating, what with it’s consistently conservative views and pervasive queerphobia. On one hand, there’s a lot to enjoy about these games between the characters (well, barring some of Persona 4‘s, anyway), the comfortable gameplay loop of daily life management and the little moments of mundanity that come with it, and, of course, the music. ![]() Reason for the second option: You don't want to play two 100h+ games that are very similar.Persona is a series of constant ups and downs. So why not play both versions of the game while you are at it? Lastly, a loooooot of people go for several playthroughs because they enjoy the game so much. ![]() Additionally, "after Persona 5 depression" is a thing and having P5R to look forward to will definitely help you dealing with it. Reasons for the first option: If you played P5 you will appreciate the changes in P5R (which is basically an enhanced special edition with additional content and QoL improvements + all the paid DLC for P5 for free) even more. Either you play both P5 and P5R (this is the option I always recommend) or you play P5R. Whenever someone asks how to go about Persona 5 I tell them the following (copy & paste): You should play the main game before (either P5 or P5R).
